--LF Alfonso Soriano hit five home runs in his first 10 games and has hit safely in 10 of the Cubs' first 11 games. He enters Tuesday's series opener against the Reds with a .393 on-base percentage and a .646 slugging percentage. Soriano's high OBP to start the season has been fueled by eight walks. Last year, Soriano drew 43 walks in 109 games. He said he has been focusing on swinging at pitches in the strike zone instead of chasing so much. He has 13 strikeouts in 48 at-bats.
--3B Aramis Ramirez has eight RBIs with two outs in an inning. Entering Monday, that tied him for the most in the major leagues with Boston's Mike Lowell. Ramirez hit a game-winning two-run homer Saturday with two outs in the 11th inning to beat the Cardinals.
--1B Derrek Lee has driven in a run in five of his last six games, collecting seven RBIs in that span. Lee is 8-for-21 (.381) on the current home stand. When the Cubs began the home stand last Monday, Lee was batting .080. He has begun driving the ball to left field.
