--IF Bobby Scales tripled as a pinch hitter in the sixth and scored a run. Scales, a career minor leaguer until earlier this week, may keep his roster spot when the Cubs place 3B Aramis Ramirez on the DL Saturday with a dislocated left shoulder.
--C Koyie Hill started behind the plate in place of Geovany Soto, who continues to struggle at the plate. Soto grounded out as a pinch hitter in the eighth, leaving the bases loaded. He's 1-for-9 over the first three games of the trip and is batting .159 for the season with no homers and four RBI. --LF Alfonso Soriano had his hitting streak end at five games, but he did hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth. Soriano was walked with one out in the eighth to load the bases. The Brewers got Ryan Theriot on a forceout and home and Soto on a groundout. Soriano has two homers on the trip.
MEDICAL WATCH:
3B Aramis Ramirez (dislocated right shoulder) was injuring diving for a ground ball and left the May 8 game. He could miss 4-to-6 weeks.
1B Derrek Lee (sore neck) did not play May 6-8. He is day-to-day.
RHP Carlos Zambrano (strained left hamstring) went on the 15-day disabled list May 4. He is expected to be out at least 2 1/2 weeks.
