Whatever happened to ...?
When we profiled Cubs broadcaster Len Kasper right before spring training, expectations for the team were sky-high.

Well, you know what happened. The wounds of the faithful are still healing. Still, Kasper remembers 2008 as his favorite year in Baseball. Atop the list of moments? Getting to call Carlos Zambrano's no-hitter against the Houston Astros, a game relocated to Milwaukee because of a hurricane.

"The circumstances were so unique. It was amazingly special, and a moment I'll never forget," Kasper said.

Outside Baseball, Kasper's a huge music geek and tries to attend as many rock concerts as he can. When we hung out with him in February, he insisted on attending the Buffalo Tom show at the Double Door. Since then, he has seen shows by The Dandy Warhols, Drive-By Truckers and The Hold Steady -- whose "Stay Positive" album Kasper called the best of the year.

His rock 'n' roll obsession even netted him a morning DJ spot at WXRT with Lin Brehmer -- a gig he hopes to resume during the Baseball season.

As for that awful Cubs divisional series sweep, Kasper could only offer a vague explanation: "October is a cruel month."
